About us

Who we are

We are Cape May County, NJ citizens who believe in our country and the values on which it stands.

Established in 1966, the Union League is drven by its founding motto “Armor Patriae Ducit”: when translated means “Love of Country Leads.”

The original Union Leagues were formed at the time of the American Civil War to promote loyalty to the Union and the republican principles of Abraham Lincoln.

Union League members represent leaders in business, education, technology, healthcare, law, government, religion, art and culture.

Working together, we stand in support of our local businesses in Cape May County and look for opportunities to improve the business climate throughout the area.

We believe that education of our area’s rich heritage, as well as the republican values of our Constitution, is critical to helping to build and maintain a strong County and Country.
